Shintarō Asanuma (born January 5, 1976) is a prolific Japanese screenwriter, director, actor, voice actor, copywriter and designer whose career spans over two decades, beginning in 1999 and continuing vibrant to the present day. Born in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, he entered the entertainment industry after graduating from a local arts college, quickly gaining attention for his versatile vocal range and keen sense of character nuance. His early voice work includes minor parts in series such as Ouran High School Host Club and xxxHOLiC, but he soon rose to prominence with leading roles like the charismatic protagonist in The Tatami Galaxy and the determined Shulk in the critically acclaimed video game Xenoblade Chronicles.
