Robin Campillo (French: [ʁɔbɛ̃ kɑ̃pijo]; born 16 August 1962) is a Moroccan-born French screenwriter, editor, and film director. He was born in Mohammedia, Morocco and has been active in the film industry since 1997. Campillo is recognized for his substantial contribution to cinema with numerous renowned and critically acclaimed films. He's well-respected in the industry for his various roles, demonstrating versatility and proficiency in the field. He has demonstrated consistent excellence across various roles, including screenwriting, film editing, and directing, embodying multitudes of talents within the film industry. His craftsmanship is best demonstrated in films such as The Class (2008), Heading South (2005), They Came Back (2004), Eastern Boys (2013), and Time Out (2001). The latter was even featured in multiple top film lists, including Slant Magazine's best films of the 2000s, The Guardian's Best Films of the 2000s, and The A.V. Club's top fifty films of the 2000s. In 2017, his work in BPM (Beats per Minute) received mass acclaim and won many awards, including the Grand Prix and 2017 César Award for Best Film.
