Rio Dewanto (born 28 August 1987 in Jakarta, Indonesia) is a prominent Indonesian actor, model, and singer of Javanese descent. He first entered the public eye in 2008, quickly gaining attention for his striking looks and charismatic presence on the runway before transitioning to the silver screen. Dewanto’s film debut came with cameo appearances in Pintu Terlarang (2009) and Ratu Kosmopolitan (2010), where his brief but memorable performances hinted at a deeper acting talent. In 2011, he achieved his breakthrough role as Hendra, also known as Ping Hen, in Hanung Bramantyo’s socially charged drama ? (Question Mark), a film that explored Indonesia’s pluralistic society and earned critical praise for Dewanto’s nuanced portrayal.
