Chicco Jerikho Jarumillind, known professionally as Chicco Jerikho, is a prominent Indonesian actor and film producer whose career has spanned over two decades, beginning with a teenage cover‑boy competition in 2000 and evolving into a distinguished presence in both television and cinema. Born in Jakarta on 3 July 1984, he grew up in a multicultural household with a Thai father and a Batak mother of the Panggabean clan, an upbringing that enriched his artistic sensibilities and later informed his versatile performances. After gaining early fame through popular soap operas such as SCTV’s Cinta Bunga in 2007, he made his feature‑film debut as an extra in the horror movie Lawang Sewu: Dendam Kuntilanak, setting the stage for a series of critically acclaimed roles. His breakout performance came in 2014 as Sani Tawainella, a former football player, in the biographical drama Lights from the East: I Am Maluku, a role that earned him the prestigious Citra Award for Best Actor at the Indonesian Film Festival. Jerikho continued to showcase his range by starring as barista Ben Soesilo in the 2015 adaptation of Dewi Lestari’s Filosofi Kopi, a project he also co‑produced, and by portraying the enigmatic subtitler Alex in Joko Anwar’s A Copy of My Mind, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. In 2016 he made his producing debut with Letters from Prague, Indonesia’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, and he later returned as Ben in the sequel Filosofi Kopi 2: Ben & Jody. More recently, Jerikho expanded into international genres with the English‑language sci‑fi film Foxtrot Six and entered the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe as Godam, appearing in a mid‑credit scene of Sri Asih (2022). Off screen, he married actress and model Putri Marino in 2018, and the couple welcomed their daughter Surinala later that year. Together with collaborators, Jerikho co‑founded the coffee shop Filosofi Kopi, blending his passion for storytelling with a tangible community space, and he remains a dynamic figure in Indonesian entertainment, continually shaping the industry through both his performances and his production ventures.
