Polly Carey Draper (born June 15, 1955), is a multi-talented American figure recognized for her work as an actress, writer, producer, and director. Born in Gary, Indiana, her diverse career reaches over three decades with her trade-mark throaty voice that distinguishes her in the industry. Draper's biggest break came from the ABC drama television series Thirtysomething (1987–91) where she secured a starring role and started gaining recognition. She has also shown her creative prowess through her screenwriting debut The Tic Code (1998) and her playwriting Getting into Heaven (2003). Draper debuted as a director with her creation The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie (2004) which eventually snapped into the Nickelodeon musical comedy series The Naked Brothers Band (2007–09) bagging her a Writers Guild of America for Children's Script: Long Form or Special. Polly Draper can also be credited for the film Stella's Last Weekend (2018) with roles as writer, director and co-star. Her personal life includes marriage to musician Michael Wolff, whom she met in 1989, and has two sons with, Nat and Alex. Things close to home have been her inspirations in producing remarkable works like The Tic Code (1999) which is influenced by Wolff's life with Tourette syndrome. Her intriguing work has obtained her a decent amount of recognition, that includes an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work in Thirtysomething, and a Bronze Gryphon award for Best Actress at the Giffoni Film Festival for The Tic Code.
