Peter McRobbie (born January 31, 1943) is a Scottish‑American character actor whose career spans over five decades, marked by a remarkable range of supporting and memorable roles in both film and television. Born in Hawick, Scotland to writer Mary Fleming and storekeeper William McRobbie, he emigrated with his family to Milford, Connecticut while still a child, a move that would later shape his bicultural identity and provide the foundation for his dual citizenship. After completing his undergraduate studies, McRobbie earned a MFA from the Yale Drama School in 1966 and pursued further training at the University of Tulsa, as well as intensive workshops with Uta Hagen and James Saito at HB Studio in New York City, honing the craft that would define his nuanced on‑screen presence. Following a two‑year stint in the United States Army at Fort Sill, where he rose to the rank of Specialist 5, McRobbie launched his professional acting career in 1975 and quickly became a reliable supporting player, appearing in more than sixty productions.
