Melinda Kinnaman is a Swedish‑American actress whose career spans more than three decades, beginning with a striking debut at the age of thirteen in Lasse Hallström’s beloved film My Life as a Dog (1985). Born on 9 November 1971 in Stockholm, Sweden, she is the daughter of American expatriates Dee and Steve Kinnaman; her father, originally David Kinnaman, was drafted for the Vietnam War but famously deserted his post in Bangkok, a detail that adds a layer of intrigue to her family history.
