Max Casella, born as Maximilian Deitch, is a celebrated American actor famous for his roles across various television series such as Doogie Howser, M.D., The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl, Cro and is also the voice of Daxter in the Jak and Daxter video game series. Max was born in Washington, D.C., the child of David Deitch, a newspaper columnist, and Doris Casella, a social worker. He is of Jewish and Italian descent, having been raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where notable personalities like Traci Bingham, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon were his classmates. Due to a growth hormone deficiency, shared by his brother, Casella had the unique ability to portray characters much younger than his actual age. This condition delayed his puberty until the age of 27.

His career highlights include portraying Vincent 'Vinnie' Delpino in Doogie Howser, M.D. and Racetrack Higgins in Newsies. He has also been a part of Broadway productions like The Lion King, receiving a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance. Other notable roles include Pvt. Dino Paparelli in Sgt. Bilko and Benny Fazio in The Sopranos. Casella continued showcasing his talent in various roles across films and series, such as Ed Wood, Analyze This, The Bronx is Burning, The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, and finally as Armand Truisi in the Paramount+ series Tulsa King from 2022. He was previously married to Leona Robbins and has two daughters with her, Mia and Gioia, before they separated in 2018.
