Leonardo Máximo Sbaraglia, also known by his nick name, Leo Sbaraglia, is celebrated as a distinguished Argentine actor with an impressive repertoire encompassing a rich variety of roles in both Argentina and Spain. His career also spans work in Mexico along with his first English-language role in Red Lights. Born in Buenos Aires to local actress and theater coach, Roxana Randon, Sbaraglia commenced his acting career at the tender age of 16 in La noche de los lápices, a political documentary helmed by director Héctor Olivera.

In 1987, he shot into limelight among the Argentine youth through his role in the TV series Clave de sol. Over the years, he triumphantly starred in TV and film productions, theater plays such as La Soledad de los Campos de Algodon and Closer. In 1993, he collaborated the first time with acclaimed Argentine director Marcelo Piñeyro in Tango feroz: la leyenda de Tanguito, sparking a series of successful future partnerships. His roles in the director's films, including Caballos salvajes (1995) earned him the Jury Prize for Best Acting at the Huelva International Film Festival, and more celebrated performances in Cenizas del paraíso (1997) and Plata quemada (2000).

Sbaraglia relocated to Spain in 1998 and displayed his acting prowess in star-studded films like Deseo (2002), and Carmen (2003), among others. He was recognized with an honorary award from the city of Huelva in 2005 and he marked his return to Argentina in 2008. Some of his most commendable subsequent roles were in films with Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver in Rodrigo Cortés' Red Lights (2012) and in Damián Szifrón's critically acclaimed Wild Tales (2014).
