Born on 1977-03-12 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, he grew up attending St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, and later honed his craft at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2001 before spending a year in Los Angeles studying improvisation at renowned schools such as The Second City, The Groundlings, ACME Comedy Theatre and I.O. West.
