John Michael Frederick Castle (born 14th January 1940) is an English actor recognized for his remarkable work in both film and television. Lauded for his roles, most notably as Bill in Michelangelo Antonioni's Blowup (1966) and Geoffrey in The Lion in Winter (1968), his career boasts a wide variety of roles in other significant productions including Man of La Mancha (1972), I, Claudius (1976), and RoboCop 3 (1993). Born and educated in Croydon and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Castle started his career on stage, making his first appearance in Henry V at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park when he was just 24.
