Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn is a well-regarded, versatile American actress, born on June 10, 1963 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her career has spanned both stage and screen, with her debut in the entertainment industry marked by performances in numerous plays in the early 1990s. She became a prominent figure with the role of a police psychologist in the erotic thriller_ Basic Instinct_ (1992), which was followed by her appearance in various other films such as The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995), and Sliding Doors (1998). Tripplehorn also made her mark in television with key roles in the HBO drama series Big Love (2006–2011) and the CBS police drama Criminal Minds (2012–2014). She earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her impressive portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the HBO movie Grey Gardens in 2009. Born to the musician Tom Tripplehorn and Suzanne Ferguson, Tripplehorn's parents divorced when she was two years old. She even worked part-time and later full-time at local rock radio station KMOD before leaving for the Juilliard School's Drama Division. Her acting career began on stage in the early 90s with performances in John Patrick Shanley's The Big Funk, John Ford's 1630s play ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore, and on Broadway in Anton Chekov's Three Sisters. On a personal front, Tripplehorn is married to actor Leland Orser and they have a son.
