She had a long and distinctive career, primarily characterized by her appearances in more than sixty films between the 1930s and the 1950s. She was known for her unique blend of strength, sensitivity, and dynamic capacity to express a wide range of emotions. Her career began in England but swiftly moved to the United States when she was signed by Paramount Pictures. Angel's memorable roles include Molly Bennett in 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood' and Babbie in 'The Little Minister.'
In 1944, she provided her voice for the character of Alice's sister in the Walt Disney animated film 'Alice in Wonderland.' Aside from movies, she was significantly involved in television, starring in series such as 'Peyton Place' and 'Family Affair.' Furthermore, Angel was a founding member of the Screen Actors Guild, a union representing actors worldwide. She retired from acting in the late 1950s but continued to participate in the Guild's affairs until the end of her life on 13th December 1986. Her contribution to cinema has been marked by her distinctive acting style and considerable array of roles in various film genres.
