He gained notable recognition for directing the film Monster House (2006), which propelled him to the prestigious Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature. Kenan's collaborations are also quite reputable, especially with director Jason Reitman in co-writing Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Saturday Night set-to-release in 2024.
Gaining roots in London to a Jewish family, Kenan immigrated to Israel and later to Los Angeles, cultivating a cosmopolitan perspective early in life. His educational journey includes earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in animation from UCLA in 2002.
