Félix Maritaud: Movies & Box Office

Félix Maritaud is a prominent French actor, recognized notably for his instrumental roles in the French queer cinema. Born on December 12, 1992, Maritaud began to make name for himself after featuring in a string of French independent films, most notably BPM (Beats per Minute). Due to his significant contributions, the French LGBT magazine Têtu named him 'the new hero of French queer cinema'. In 2018, Maritaud drew further attention with his role in the independent film Sauvage, painting a poignant picture of a homeless sex worker and delivering a performance that was hailed as a 'heartbreaking revelation'. His exceptional acting earned him the Lumières Award for Best Male Revelation at the 24th Lumières Awards. In 2019, he appeared in Gaspar Noé's Lux Æterna, which was featured out of competition at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Maritaud continued to edge his way further into fame, starring in a French short film titled Dustin, in 2020. Although the film faced setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic in France, it was later screened at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the IMDbPro Short Cuts Award for Best International Short Film. An advocate for queer rights, Maritaud is openly gay.
