Eleonora Brown is an Italian film actress best known for her poignant performance as the young daughter of Sophia Loren's character in the critically acclaimed 1960 film Two Women (La Ciociara). Born on August 22, 1948, in Naples, Campania, Italy, to an American father who worked with the International Red Cross in post-World War II Italy and a Neapolitan mother, Brown entered the cinematic world at the tender age of twelve. Her portrayal in Vittorio De Sica's neorealist drama earned her international recognition, though the production was not without its challenges. Brown later revealed that her on-screen mother, Sophia Loren, personally shielded her from comprehending the full traumatic weight of the film's controversial rape scene, ensuring the young actress's emotional protection during the difficult filming process.
