Debi Derryberry (née Greenberg, born September 27, 1960) is an American voice actress whose career spans over three decades and includes a remarkable range of animated protagonists, video‑game characters, and commercial personalities. Born in Indio, California, to a family of Hungarian‑Jewish descent, she grew up listening to stories of her grandparents’ survival of the Holocaust, an influence that instilled both resilience and a love for storytelling. After graduating from Indio High School in 1978, she pursued kinesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, but soon redirected her ambitions toward music, moving to Nashville to chase a country‑singing dream. A serendipitous encounter on the set of Hey Vern, It’s Ernest! in 1987 led her to voice‑over work; a body‑double stint for Scott Menville opened the door to a demo reel that impressed casting director Ginny McSwain, who urged her return to California and secured her first major cartoon role as Jackie on Bobby’s World.
