David E. Talbert, born February 10, 1966, is a distinguished American playwright, author, and filmmaker. Prior to embarking on his illustrious career, he acquired his preliminary education from Morgan State University and proceeded to the New York University film program. Talbert has an overwhelming list of accolades to his name, including multiple NAACP awards for his work 'The Fabric of a Man'. In 2007, his musical stageplay, 'Love in the Nick of Tyme', won him the New York Literary Award. Besides his career in stage plays and novels, Talbert turned to the world of reality television, producing a show named 'Stage Black'. The unique concept of the show featured actors and singers competing for a role in one of his renowned plays.

In 2008, Talbert took a significant leap in his career, releasing his first film 'First Sunday'. This film marked his prominence in the film industry with a star-studded cast including Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan, and Katt Williams.
