David Filoni, born on June 7, 1974 in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is an American director, producer, writer, voice actor, and animator who has become one of the most influential creative forces at Lucasfilm. From his early work storyboard‑ing for series such as King of the Hill and Kim Possible to directing episodes of the critically acclaimed Avatar: The Last Airbender, Filoni honed a storytelling style that blends dynamic visual composition with deep character development. In 2008 he served as supervising director and helmed the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a project that not only revived interest in the franchise’s animated narrative but also introduced iconic characters like Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, whose popularity endures across media. His passion for the galaxy far, far away is famously rooted in a lifelong admiration for the Jedi Master Plo Koon, a devotion reflected in the decor of his office and in subtle homages throughout his work.
