Creed Bratton, born as William Charles Schneider on February 8, 1943, is an accomplished American actor and musician best known for his ingenious role in the NBC sitcom, The Office. His performance earned him five nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance. However, his stint in the cinematic world didn't start here. He officially began his acting career in 1975 and has since made notable appearances in films including Mask and Heart Like a Wheel. Moreover, he has also shown his musical prowess as a former member of the rock band, The Grass Roots. During his musical career, his group churned out top-10 hits like 'Let's Live for Today' and 'Midnight Confessions', contributing significantly to the rock-music scene. Besides acting and music, Bratton is also a songwriter and has co-written songs like 'Beatin' Round the Bush', 'No Exit' and 'Hot Bright Lights'. Bratton's unique journey forms an integral part of his character to this day. He adopted his stage name while touring the world as a traveling musician through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and has been active since the 1960s. Despite being asked to leave the band in 1969 due to creative differences, he successfully embarked on his solo career, releasing multiple albums along the way. He has also been recognized as an important contributor to the Wrecking Crew at the Musicians Hall of Fame. As part of his acting career, his role on The Office stands out, where his character's past as a band member frequently features as a small plot. In 2008, he featured in a short film that won an accolade for best short film and continues to actively engage in various film projects.
