Clifford Vivian Devon Curtis, better known as Cliff Curtis, is a celebrated New Zealand actor and producer. Born on July 27, 1968, in Rotorua, New Zealand, Curtis established a commendable presence in the world of international film and theatre. His debut in cinema came with Jane Campion's Oscar-winning film, The Piano (1993), paving the way for a breakout role in Once Were Warriors (1994). To date, he boasts four New Zealand Film Awards under his belt. He continued to thrive internationally with credits ranging from Three Kings (1999) to Doctor Sleep (2019). Curtis also holds roles in popular television series like NBC's Trauma and AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. Curtis co-owns Whenua Films, an independent New Zealand production company.

An individual of Maori descent with affiliations to the Te Arawa and Ngāti Hauiti tribes, Curtis' early experiences included studying traditional Maori forms of fighting.
