Christopher Reid (born April 5, 1964) is an American rapper, actor, comedian, and television host best known for his role in the hip‑hop duo Kid ’n Play. Kid, a shortened version of his original MC name Kid Coolout, became an iconic figure in late‑1980s and early‑1990s pop culture, recognized for his towering hi‑top fade, freckled complexion, and energetic on‑stage presence. Born in The Bronx, New York, to a Jamaican father and an Irish mother, Reid graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1982 and earned a B.A. in English from Lehman College in 1986 after briefly attending Miles College.
