Bayoumi Fouad: Movies & Box Office

Bayoumi Fouad Haddad (born June 16, 1965 in Cairo, Egypt) is one of the most recognizable faces of contemporary Egyptian cinema and television. After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University, he joined the Atelier Theater troupe and completed the inaugural class of the Center for Artistic Creativity, Department of Direction, which gave him a solid foundation in both performance and directing. His early professional life included a stint in advertising, but he soon transitioned to acting, landing minor film roles in Instead of Lost and Tell Me Shahrazad (2009) before breakthrough appearances in the socially charged 678 (2010) and Asmaa (2011).

Fouad’s television career accelerated with popular series such as Gates of Fear (2011) and An Unknown Number (2012), but it was his comedic turn in the wildly successful El Kabeer Awy franchise that cemented his status as a household name. He earned the affectionate nickname "The Joker of Egyptian Drama" for his ability to blend humor with pathos, especially in his many portrayals of doctors, a role that has become almost iconic in Egyptian film. By 2021, his films A Men's Stand and Mama is Pregnant collectively grossed US$21.7 million in Saudi Arabia, underscoring his position as a top‑draw actor in the Arab market.

Beyond the screen, Bayoumi is also a visual artist, contributing to stage productions and animation projects, and he remains active in theater, radio, and television programming. Married to Amani, he is a father of three children—Nour, Mohamed, and Joud—balancing a prolific career with family life. His versatility, relentless work ethic, and charismatic presence continue to shape the landscape of modern Egyptian entertainment.
