Madhu and Mala are identical twin sisters living with their grandmother, each carrying a distinct personality. Madhu is outgoing, playful, and full of mischief, always ready with a joke or a prank, while Mala is quiet, serious, and focused on her medical studies. When the college principal notices Madhu’s disruptive antics, he nominates her for an inter-college quiz as a penalty, a move that is really meant to curb her risk-taking and expose her lack of seriousness in a high-stakes setting. Madhu pleads with Mala to take her place, and Mala agrees, hoping to help her sister out.

During the quiz, Mala meets Sameer Wankhede, and the two quickly fall in love. The next day, Sameer encounters Madhu and believes she is Mala, asking for her phone number.
