Ariane Labed, born on May 8, 1984, is a highly regarded Greek-French actress and film director. Well-known for her powerful debut in Attenberg, she garnered significant acclaim including the prestigious Volpi Cup for Best Actress. Exploring other ventures, Labed showcased her extraordinary acting prowess in Helen Edmundson's film 'Mary Magdalene' in 2018. Born to French parents in Athens, Greece, Labed spent her formative years globetrotting between Greece and Germany, eventually settling in France at the age of 12. She pursued her passion for theater at the University of Provence, earning a thorough grounding in theater, Bachelor of Performing Arts, and a master's degree in dramaturgy and scenic writing. There she crossed paths with the accomplished Greek director Argyro Chioti and together, they co-founded the theater group VASISTAS in 2005, a group that remains active today.
