Amanda Michelle Seyfried, an American actress, singer, and songwriter, began her acting career at 15. Born on December 3, 1985, she first featured in recurring roles As the World Turns (1999–2001) and All My Children (2003). Seyfried rose to prominence following her debut in Mean Girls (2004), and other notable roles include Veronica Mars (2004–2006) and Big Love (2006–2011). Seyfried has starred in various films, such as Mamma Mia series, Jennifer's Body (2009), Dear John (2010), and Letters to Juliet (2010). Seyfried's portrayal of Marion Davies in Mank (2020) earned her critical acclaim and nominations for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award. In the Hulu miniseries The Dropout (2022), her role as Elizabeth Holmes won her the Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy Award. In 2022, she was named one of Time's 100 most influential people.

Seyfried, born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, is of German, English, Scots-Irish, and Welsh ancestry. She attended William Allen High School and was enrolled at Fordham University, but she left to pursue her leading role in Mean Girls (2004). Seyfried started modeling during her high school and appeared in print ads for clothing companies and covers of the Sweet Valley High novel series. At 17, she transitioned into acting with soap operas and eventually hit films. Seyfried's performance in the box office success Mean Girls earned her an MTV Movie Award.
