Alfonso Herrera Rodríguez, also known as Poncho, is a Mexican actor and singer. Born on 28th August 1983 in Mexico City, Herrera made his television debut in Clase 406 in 2002, and his film debut in Amar te duele the same year, even bagging a MTV Movie Award in Mexico. The year 2004 marked international stardom for Herrera as he portrayed the protagonist Miguel Arango in the Mexican telenovela Rebelde. This role contributed to the formation of the pop musical group RBD, in which Herrera was a leading singer. The group achieved remarkable success in Latin America, USA, and Europe, and has sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

Early life saw Herrera with inclinations towards aviation however, a change in mind led him to enroll at the Centro de Educación Artística. His post-education career saw multiple high-profile roles, notable among which included his lead role in the political satire comedy film The Perfect Dictatorship, Hernando Fuentes in the series Sense8, Father Tomas in The Exorcist, and Javi Elizondro in the final season of Ozark. His tremendous impact on the film industry has led to countless nominations and numerous awards. This includes nominations for the TVyNovelas Award, Ariel Award, and Imagen Foundation Award.
