Kunal is an orphan who grows up in a boarding school after the loss of his parents. One day, he is summoned to the village of Jhunjhun Nagri by his uncle, Deshraj Kumar. From the moment he arrives, it’s clear that the uncle, his wife Rajrani, and his cousin hold a grudge against him, setting a tense tone for his new life. Enrolled in the local school run by Deshraj, Kunal soon discovers that the teachers are far from capable. When he tries to correct one of them, he is met with humiliation and punishment, revealing a climate of fear and powerlessness that pervades the institution.
Despite the pressure, Kunal befriends two classmates, Arjun and Rani, who quietly share the truth: the students live in constant fear of their teachers. The trio’s curiosity leads them to explore an abandoned palace in the nearby jungle, a place whispered about as haunted. There, they encounter a mysterious man who frightens them, a figure who will later prove pivotal to their story. Meanwhile, Deshraj comes under the glare of state auditors investigating a troubling embezzlement scheme involving ₹60 lakhs meant for a school library but instead tucked away in his accounts. The pressure of potential jail time pushes Deshraj toward a drastic plan: he discovers that Kunal’s late parents had taken out a ₹75 lakh life insurance policy in the boy’s name, and he decides to take desperate action.
Deshraj leads Kunal to Mumbai, under the guise of a carnival visit, only to abandon him there. He then fakes an accident to claim the life insurance payout, leaving Kunal lost and alone in the bustling city. It is in Mumbai that Kunal meets Kittu Chopra, a kind-hearted homeless woman who secretly lives behind the scenes at a theatre. Seeing the boy’s plight, Kittu takes him in, offering shelter and genuine care. The bond between them grows quickly as they share small joys and daily struggles. Kittu promises to help reunite him with his uncle, but Kunal remains wary, insisting that they should leave if his family mistreats him again. Their warmth is interrupted when a theatre guard catches up with them, and they narrowly escape. As they attempt to board a train back to Jhunjhun Nagri, Kittu is arrested, forcing Kunal to continue his journey alone.
Back in Jhunjhun Nagri, the village begins to suffer a second wave of fear. Arjun and Rani are escorted to the village godman, who claims that Kunal was killed by an evil spirit in the abandoned palace and blames the children for his death. When Kunal finally returns, the villagers mistake him for a ghost, and the atmosphere shifts from curiosity to terror. In this climate, Deshraj plots to kill him to prevent exposure, but Kunal overhears the plan and flees back to the abandoned palace. There he encounters the same mysterious man, who reveals himself as Dr. Vivek Rai—a renowned scientist who was driven out of the village by Deshraj and the godman for promoting education and rational thought.
With Vivek’s help, Kunal and the scientist decide to expose the corruption and lift the village out of superstition. Using Vivek’s inventions, Kunal adopts the identity of a masked vigilante, “Zokkomon.” As Zokkomon, he wields clever gadgets to frighten and humiliate the teachers, teaching them a lesson about cruelty and power. The abashed teachers report back to Deshraj, who grows nervous as the townspeople begin to rally around the mysterious protector. The village witness a public confrontation in which Zokkomon appears and challenges the status quo, inspiring the children to stand up for themselves and question blind faith.
During a village meeting, Deshraj and the godman attempt to manipulate the crowd with fear, but Zokkomon reappears, painting them with paintballs and declaring that he will not leave until the villagers abandon their blind faith. The moment is interrupted when Kittu arrives in Jhunjhun Nagri in search of Kunal. Though initially wary of her interference, Vivek allows Kunal to reunite with Kittu. Yet Kittu fears for the boy’s safety and plans to take him away again, arguing that Vivek may be using Kunal for his own ends. Vivek counters that Zokkomon stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment for the people.
That night, Kunal meets with Arjun and Rani and reveals the truth behind Zokkomon, urging them to keep the mission alive. A villager spots him, and Deshraj chases, leading to a tense pursuit through the forest and across the school grounds. Kunal falls from the roof and is knocked unconscious, but the children—dressed as Zokkomon—surround Deshraj and force him to confess his crimes, including abandoning Kunal. When he recovers, the village erupts in celebration at their newfound sense of justice and agency.
In the aftermath, Deshraj is arrested for fraud, and the fake godman is expelled from the village. Dr. Vivek Rai transforms the once-haunted palace into a science school, turning a space of superstition into a place of learning. Kunal, Kittu, and Vivek begin a new life together, not as a traditional family by birth but as a chosen family built on trust, courage, and the shared dream of a community that values education and reason over fear.
