Bruneian high-schooler Yasmine has had enough of the rigid confines of school life and her strict father, and she longs to master Silat, the Southeast Asian martial art she once saw demonstrated by a boy at school who hoped to impress someone. What starts as a spark of excitement about becoming a capable practitioner soon dulls when she discovers the school’s Silat club is inept—led by a teacher who doesn’t truly understand the art and a dwindling number of students.

Determined, she teams up with two classmates, Nadia and Ali, who share her drive to learn and improve. With the trio in tow, they decide that the best path to real skill is to find a genuine pesilat who can coach them properly, even if it means stepping beyond the limits of their club. Their search leads them to a Silat gym where they meet an imposing rival, Dewi, who makes her presence felt from the start. Dewi’s taunts about their supposed desperation sting, and it quickly becomes clear that the competition between them runs deeper than mere technique.

The revelation that their current master is Dewi’s father adds another layer to the tension, leaving Yasmine feeling discouraged and wary. She returns home to a stern talk from her father, Fahri, about the perceived dangers of Silat, which only strengthens her resolve to learn—perhaps even behind his back. A moment later, a family friend suggests that her father might benefit from rethinking his approach to parenting, but he brushes the idea aside.

As the days pass, Yasmine spies [Dewi] training alongside a boy at a Silat promotion, a sight that intensifies their rivalry. Undeterred, the trio encounters a new master—though he is handicapped—and through rigorous practice they begin to build real Silat prowess. They learn to keep their training under wraps, pretending to study regular school subjects while secretly mastering moves on paper and in drills.

When the big pep rally approaches, the group—along with others from district schools—prepares to showcase what they’ve learned. The atmosphere is tense, and Yasmine’s concern grows when she witnesses her so‑called friends from another school mocking Nadia’s anxiety. This moment fuels a fiery determination in Yasmine, prompting her to chase after them and defend her friends, the progress they’ve achieved, and the sense of unity they’ve found through their shared journey into Silat.
