Nod quietly secures a catch, only to watch as this wriggling creature squeezes into the pocket of mischief, wriggling with a life of its own. The starfish doesn’t swim but rather clings to the sails of their odd, boot-shaped boat—snagging Wynken and Nod’s candy-cane baited fishing rods in its slippery grasp. The creature’s odd tugging pulls at Nod as he dangles over the edge, making the moment feel both funny and a touch perilous, as if the sky itself is playing a prank.

As the starfish clings on, trouble follows in comic sequence. The starfish mistakes Nod for a candy cane treat, which adds a playful, if troublesome, tension to the balance of their voyage. In the midst of this chaos, Blynken’s pajamas come undone, exposing a bit of skin as he scrambles to stay upright and grab Wynken before he slides away. The scene is light, ridiculous, and somehow endearing, a reminder of how fragile things can be when you’re high above a world made of soft, breathing clouds.

A meteorite streaks by in the distance, a bright interruption that shakes their little craft. They’re suddenly ensnared in a net, and the tugging force pulls them violently along until they land on another cloud. In this moment, Nod’s pajamas come undone once more, but he hastily fastens them, keeping his balance as best he can.
