Woman, Life, Freedom: An Iranian Revolution (2023): Cast

On September 2022, the death of Mahsa Amini in Tehran, after being arrested for allegedly violating the country's hijab law, ignited a widespread uprising. A spontaneous movement quickly emerged, centered around the powerful slogan “Woman, life, freedom.” For the first time, women led the charge, joined by men and students, as they publicly removed their veils—a symbol of oppression under the Islamic Republic. Protests spread across Iran, uniting diverse communities and prompting global attention. The film explores this significant moment of mobilization and raises the question of whether the theocratic regime could face change.
