Woman and the Glacier (2016): Cast

Lithuanian scientist Ausra Revutaite has dedicated three decades studying climate change on the Tuyuksu Glacier in the Tian Shan mountain range of Central Asia. Situated high above sea level, near the borders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Xinjiang, she lives and works at an aging Soviet research station accompanied by her dog and cat. Her work is a solitary pursuit, finding solace in the silence and meticulous nature of her observations. The documentary combines stunning visuals of the glacier and her daily life with historical footage, revealing a landscape seemingly unchanged over a century.
