Donald Duck, a park ranger, watches Chip and Dale scramble to gather acorns for winter. Chip works hard, while Dale prefers napping, until Chip’s kick forces him into action. Their tree runs low, so they spy Donald planting acorns and scheme to steal his bag. Donald traps Chip with a baited box, but Dale’s clumsiness flips the trap. The duck enjoys the chaos, underestimating the chipmunks’ quick teamwork as they turn the tables on their irritable foe.

Chip, voiced by James MacDonald, and Dale, voiced by Dessie Flynn, are two spirited chipmunks living in a forest where acorns are scarce as winter looms. The days in the oaks feel busy, but the autumn harvest has been uneven, leaving their cache thin. They spot Donald Duck, the park ranger, busy seeding a clearing in the oak woods and guarding a large sack of acorns that looks ripe for the taking.
Fueled by hunger and mischief, the duo hatches a plan to seize the sack. They manage to grab the entire load, even as Dale ponders Donald’s cautious advice and hesitates to commit. Donald, quick on the trail, realizes the theft and retrieves the sack just as the chipmunks reach the ground entrance to their tree. He then sets a box trap baited with an acorn that snares both Chip and Dale, despite Chip’s awareness of the ruse and their frantic attempts to wriggle free.
As the two argue and scramble, Donald watches with a dry amusement, egging them on to a showdown. The chipmunks soon figure out his dirty tricks and press on toward the homestead of acorns, while Donald stands firmly in front of the tree entrance to block the loot from slipping inside. The forest air grows tense with competitive energy, a playful clash unfolding between wits and will.
Chip and Dale respond with unexpected teamwork, lifting hockey sticks that feel almost natural in their tiny paws. They match Donald’s pace and sharpen their agility, turning the forest floor into a makeshift arena where swift passes and quick pivots matter as much as luck. The back-and-forth escalates into a lively display of forest hockey, each side trading clever moves and cheeky taunts, until the chipmunks gain the upper hand.
In a climactic burst, the two chipmunks unleash a massive acorn stampede, rolling a torrent of nuts through the tree and flooding the hollow with a cacophony of clattering shells. The force leaves a dazed Donald reeling, his hat askew as he slaps his hands against the door in disbelief. He delivers one last acorn toward the chipmunks and laughs, as if declaring victory, while Chip and Dale exchange a knowing glance and conclude that Donald has perhaps lost his mind in the mischief of the moment.
