Donald Duck, a park ranger, watches Chip and Dale scramble to gather acorns for winter. Chip works hard, while Dale prefers napping, until Chip’s kick forces him into action. Their tree runs low, so they spy Donald planting acorns and scheme to steal his bag. Donald traps Chip with a baited box, but Dale’s clumsiness flips the trap. The duck enjoys the chaos, underestimating the chipmunks’ quick teamwork as they turn the tables on their irritable foe.
