Donald Duck wakes in a cozy, rustic winter cabin and heads outside to gather firewood, intent on keeping a small fire crackling to ward off the chill. He chops down a modest, top-heavy log that secretly serves as the home for two chipmunks, Chip and Dale, who quietly follow him back to the cabin. After Donald places the log into the fireplace and begins to search for matches, the mischievous duo quickly get their nuts out of the log, only to discover it’s too late. Donald lights the fire, warms his hands, and settles in, while the chipmunks slip in behind his back, extinguish the flames, and boldly haul the log out of the cabin, right in front of his eyes. A delighted Donald doesn’t miss a beat and calmly takes the log back as the intruders retreat.

The playful confrontation continues as the chipmunks climb onto the roof and rain snowballs down the chimney to smother the lingering warmth. Determined to reclaim the warmth, Donald Duck climbs up the chimney, catching the chipmunks in the act; he rolls them into a snowball and sends them tumbling off the roof with a well-timed toss. Not to be outdone, Chip shares another plan with Dale, and Dale nods eagerly, agreeing to the scheme. Chip positions himself at a steep hill directly in front of the cabin door and starts a snowball rolling downhill, building momentum and size with each turn. Dale slows, but the cue is given, and Donald, drawn to the door by the commotion, answers just as the enormous snowball reaches him, colliding with his doorstep arrival.

With the snowball’s impact and the chaos that follows, Chip and Dale retrieve their log once more and begin to slip away from the cabin. As they make their exit, Dale seizes a cheeky opportunity and gives Donald a playful kick, leaving the often hot-headed duck momentarily buried in snow and looking a little astonished, his rear still exposed to the cold air. The scene closes on this lighthearted, if cheeky, exchange, capturing the classic good-natured chaos that defines their seaside of mischief and camaraderie in the snowy outdoors.
