In 1920s Paris, out‑of‑work singer Victoria Grant encounters a recently fired, flamboyant gay performer in a nightclub. He persuades her to adopt the persona of a male female‑impersonator to secure work. Their act becomes a sensation, but complications arise when Chicago gangster and club owner King Marchan falls in love with “him.” The production was filmed live on Broadway in 1995.
