The story

What Is Vault About?

The premise of Vault without spoilers.

In a stylized deconstruction, the Yonemoto duo reshape the classic boy‑meets‑girl story, using melodrama to expose Freudian symbols and manipulative tactics in media portrayals of romance. The film follows a pole‑vaulter‑cellist and a cowboy‑painter, employing psychoanalysis, flashbacks, Wagnerian music and clichés with irony to show how media builds personal love fictions.
