What Is Valley of Hell About?
The premise of Valley of Hell without spoilers.
Noël Bienvenu, a widower living with his parents, despises his son Bastien, recently sentenced to six months for theft. When a dying friend, Romieux, asks Noël to look after his daughter Marthe, who has moved to Paris’s Batignolles district, Noël finds her impoverished and her lover Gaston incarcerated. He invites Marthe to live with him, and they soon marry.
