Dr. Ghungroo lives with his wife and his son-like nephew Rajiv, Akshay Kumar, an auctioneer who Ghungroo hopes will marry into a respectable family, but he will only consent to a match that has no criminal history. This rule already casts a shadow over the neighborhood’s power dynamics, where Uday Shetty, Nana Patekar, and his fearless, funny foster brother Majnu Bhai, Anil Kapoor, navigate a world of menacing deals and hard-won loyalties with a surprising warmth. When Rajiv and Sanjana Shetty, Uday’s half-sister, quickly fall for each other after a chance encounter, the two families instinctively press ahead with the engagement, even as the truth about their criminal lifestyles looms large. The contrast between Ghungroo’s desire for a clean life and the brothers’ appetite for risk creates a delicate balance of affection, duty, and irony that binds the story in a hopeful, if comic, tension.

To secure the union, Ghungroo invites the formidable Don Ranvir Dhanraj Xaja, better known as RDX, Feroz Khan, to the engagement. But the plan is complicated by Ishika, Ghungroo’s sister-in-law, Mallika Sherawat, who arrives with a crafty ruse, claiming to be Rajiv’s childhood betrothed. The fabrication buys time, yet Ghungroo lays down a stark condition: if Uday and Majnu are to be part of the marriage, they must renounce their life of crime. In response, Rajiv and Sanjana work to reform the brothers—helping Uday rediscover a spark for acting and Majnu a long-lost passion for painting—while Ishika is planted to pose as a love interest for both brothers, further blurring loyalties and loyalties’ lines. The plan is bold, and the tone shifts toward a blend of romance, redemption, and farce.

The engagement party is hit with a violent turn when Lucky Xaxa, RDX’s volatile son, attacks Rajiv. A shot fired by Sanjana hits Lucky, knocking him unconscious and triggering a cascade of consequences that culminate in a chaotic cremation scene averted by luck and bravado. Lucky survives and eludes capture, while RDX paints a single, unforgiving path: seize the moment to punish, or risk losing face. The group is soon captured and dragged to a cabin perched beside a cliff, where they are forced to play a brutal game of Pass the Globe—the one who holds the globe when the music stops must jump. The cabin’s footing fails, yet a single column holds the suicide-tinged structure aloft, and the occupants scramble to survive as Majnu wields an axe to free Lucky’s head, a misfire cracking a beehive and unleashing a swarm that complicates every effort. Rajiv finds a rope and the survivors stagger back to solid ground, only to discover Lucky clinging to the edge as the floor collapses and the cabin teeters over the abyss.

In the drama’s heart, Sanjana finally confesses that she shot Lucky to shield Rajiv from trouble, and he, in a rare moment of courage, saves Lucky from death. The cabin gives way and Rajiv appears to have perished, but he miraculously survives and is joyfully reunited with Sanjana and his new family. Grateful for the near-miss and the chance at a peaceful future, Lucky and RDX vow to embrace a life away from crime, granting Rajiv his wish to marry Sanjana. Yet the victory is bittersweet, as Uday and Majnu uncover Ishika’s manipulation and confront the consequences of their own choices, chasing Rajiv in a last, comic scramble toward a redesigned destiny where love, trust, and a crime-free life prevail.
