The People You Meet

The Clinic

In the second vignette, Crenshaw, Nick Mancuso, a hard-driving traveling salesman, seeks shelter late at night after a bitey encounter with a stray dog. He finds refuge in a private clinic run by the young Dr. Roberts, Martin Neufeld, attended by a striking nurse. What starts as a routine medical stop quickly veers into something far more disturbing: blood on the walls, piercing screams, and patients moving as if under some shared, sinister sway. The doctor initially labels the phenomena as a rare rabies manifestation, but it becomes clear that the clinic is overrun by inmates, transforming the space into a makeshift asylum where reality bends and control slips away.

Stolen Moments

The final tale follows Cindy Craig, Françoise Robertson, a shy, pretty woman who fills her life with a chorus of pets and a quiet routine. One evening at a bar, two men notice her and take her back to an abandoned house. What begins as a reckless night of passion escalates into violence, and Cindy’s actions erase the glow of the moment, allowing her to slip back into her mundane, unassuming existence while the memory of what she has done lingers, reshaping the thin line between normalcy and something darker.

Throughout these stories, Philip’s narration ties the three episodes together with a thread of paranoia and unease, inviting audiences to contemplate the hidden edges of ordinary life and the ways fear can fracture perception, morality, and human connection.
