Trinetra unfolds as a stark, emotional drama about family, loyalty, and the relentless pull of vengeance. At its heart is Raja, Dharmendra, an aspiring singer who lands a life-changing opportunity to perform in Dubai thanks to the influence of a powerful man named Singhania, Amrish Puri. He shares the news with his pregnant wife, Seema, Deepa Sahi, and together they start dreaming of a brighter, more prosperous future. The couple savors the promise of better days, imagining a home filled with music, hope, and the laughter of a growing family.

But the dream soon collides with a darker scheme. Singhania intends to use Raja as a pawn to smuggle drugs in his suitcase, and Raja, grounded in his integrity and desire to protect his family, objects to the plan. In a brutal confrontation that unfolds in full view of Seema, Raja is killed, and the attackers leave behind a gaping hole of grief. Seema flees the assailants, clutching the newborn within her arms, and gives birth to a baby boy near the temple of Bhagwan Shri Shankar, naming him Shiva. The tragedy binds the family in a murky rite of loss and hope, as the child’s arrival promises a future that might redeem the past.

Into this storm steps Maria Fernandes, a widow who is unmarried and childless, portrayed by Anjana Mumtaz. She discovers the baby and the seemingly dead Seema, and in a move that will reshape the boy’s fate, she takes the child into her care. The sudden separation sets up a central question of the film: who will protect the child and avenge the father’s death when the mother is believed dead?

Yet Seema is not gone. She is very much alive, and her grief blossoms into a singular resolve: she will avenge Raja’s murder. What follows is a careful, methodical hunt for the killers, a journey that tests the limits of a mother’s love and a son’s legacy. Seema manages to strike at one of the assailants, a brutal act that underscores her determination. But the law and the consequences of violence soon catch up with her, and she is arrested and sentenced to several years in prison. The story leaves us with a piercing, unanswered question: can Seema complete her vengeance from behind bars, or will time and distance erode her quest for justice?

In Trinetra, the threads of vengeance, motherhood, and the cost of violence intertwine to form a saga that is as much about the personal price of revenge as it is about the pursuit of justice. The film invites audiences to weigh the strength of a mother’s devotion against the harsh realities of violence, and to wonder how far a family will go to honor a name and protect a future. The journey is long, the scars are deep, and the path to redemption remains uncertain.
