Chip James MacDonald (voice) and Dale Dessie Flynn (voice) wake up one morning to collect nuts, only to stumble upon the footprints of Donald Duck Clarence Nash (voice) left behind during a relaxing vacation. Intrigued, they trace the tracks to a trailer where they find Donald sleeping. Chip leans in and peeks at his eye, seeing sheep jumping over a fence, and cheekily mutters >Well what do you know?<, then snaps the eye shut again. The mischievous duo begins to tease him by blaring a car horn, waking the irate duck. Donald captures Dale in a flash, but Chip sinks his teeth into his foot, sending Donald yelping as they dash away, laughing at the chaotic prank they pulled.
Donald, dressed in a swimsuit, steps out and notices a diving board perched by the lake. Chip and Dale stage a sly prank by fiddling with the diving board’s position while he’s still standing on it, causing a tumble that sends him onto the board and eventually back into his trailer, leaving a mess behind. Caught on to the trick, Donald traps the chipmunks in the horn and honks it rapidly, then stuffs them into a pie and hurls it into a tree. He chuckles at his handiwork before retreating inside to eat breakfast.
Nearby, Chip notices pine cones dangling from a branch and rallies Dale to investigate. They scamper up the tree and peek inside the trailer, where Donald is eating his breakfast. To the tune of Shave and a Haircut, the chipmunks rain pine cones down onto his meal and onto his head, inciting a furious reaction. In a fit of rage, Donald hops into his car and crashes the tree with enough force to bend it into a catapult. Before he can grab them, the amigos leap away, and Donald, now resigned to his doomed fate, bids farewell in a humorous flourish as his car is hurled off a cliff and destroyed. The two watch from the roadside as a dazed Donald tumbles out of the hood, the horn still in his mouth and the steering wheel clutched in his hands, treating himself like a car as he honks and drives off toward the horizon, bringing the cartoon to a playful, chaotic close.
