It has been 2 years since the events of the episode “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys,” and Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are finally released from prison. Back in Sunnyvale Trailer Park, Bubbles discovers that all of his kittens have been sent to an animal shelter, and he faces a steep bill to secure their release. Meanwhile, Ricky’s plan for a fresh start gets tangled in the aftermath of a liquor store heist: Julian uses all the money from the theft to buy a car and transform his trailer into an auto-body shop, while Ricky still clings to the hope that passing his Grade 12 exam will open doors and new opportunities.
Jim Lahey is sober and has opened up a posh new trailer park, a bold move that aims to demolish Sunnyvale once and for all. His big project hits a snag when his new sewer line must cross Julian’s lot, prompting him to pressure Julian to move. But the moment he drinks, the old habits return, and a single sip sends Lahey spiraling back into heavy drinking. Randy leaves him and moves out of their trailer, instead setting up on Julian’s deck, and Lahey’s temper erupts into a liquor-fueled rampage. The trio’s fortunes follow a grim pattern: Julian’s auto-body business stalls, Ricky fails to secure a passing grade, and Bubbles’ kitten-rescue effort stalls as well, culminating in Tyrone’s arrest after a chaotic mishap involving the cat rescue plans.
Bubbles is told that the kittens will be put down soon unless he can raise the money to save them. In a desperate bid, Lahey, drunk once again, destroys Ricky’s new cannabis operation and also demolishes Julian’s trailer in an attempt to force Julian to move. Yet his plan backfires because Julian has insured the trailer for $28,000. With his dream of a brand-new, prosperous trailer park slipping away, Lahey’s grip on reality begins to crumble.
Facing an even deeper hole, the boys decide to rob a bank disguised as security guards, hoping to fund a rescue for the kittens. The plan pays off briefly as they obtain money from the vault, but Lahey makes a dramatic late arrival, threatening the entire scheme. He even contemplates suicide by jumping from the bank roof, a move Julian prevents just in time as the real security guards arrive. The botched caper ends with Ricky, Julian, Bubbles, and Randy being arrested and sent back to prison after a tense car chase with the police and security guards. They receive a short two-week sentence, partly because their arresting officer is drunk, and they insist on not being filmed again.
Back in the prison, Bubbles’ kittens are spared thanks to a therapy-animal program, and the cats are released to spend time with the inmates, offering a glimmer of hope amid the chaos. Bubbles lands a date with the animal-control worker who saved his kittens, and the group likely returns to Sunnyvale with Julian using the insurance money to begin anew on a rebuilt trailer. Meanwhile, Lahey is shown in Cuba, living it up with stolen money but still miserable because he has no one to share his wealth with. In a contrasting arc, J-Roc achieves his long-sought fame as a rapper, releasing a new record and performing on a big stage to an eager, cheering crowd. The film closes with a sense of both endings and new beginnings, as the men of Sunnyvale navigate tough choices, loyalties, and the uncertain road ahead.
