In Japan, Kiriko Hikari Mitsushima Imazato and her younger half-brother Daigo Takeru Shibuya Imazato live with their father Kohei Teruyuki Kagawa Imazato, a book illustrator whose latest project consumes his attention. Daigo’s behavior takes a troubling turn when he inexplicably beats a rabbit to death outside his school, and soon after he stops attending classes. Kiriko watches the change with growing concern, while Kohei remains absorbed in his work and the demands of his craft.
