Captain Jagadish Dhanapal, a DIA specialist in the Indian Army, returns to Mumbai from Kashmir and finds his parents and younger sisters pressing him to meet Nisha, a prospective bride. After the bride-viewing ceremony, he makes up excuses to avoid marrying her, even remarking that she seems too traditional. Yet [Nisha] turns out to be a university-level boxer with a modern outlook, having been forced to appear traditional by her parents. Jagadish notices her in a boxing match and falls in love, and she reciprocates after initially refusing him.
One day, Jagadish witnesses a bus explosion in which he and his police officer friend Balaji had travelled. He captures the injured bomber, who later escapes from the hospital where he is kept under custody. Jagadish captures him again, and also forces the security chief who helped the bomber escape to commit suicide. Jagadish learns the bomber is a sleeper agent, part of a terrorist cell that has planned twelve such attacks in the city within a couple of days. He enlists his fellow army men and begins to eliminate the sleeper agents, including the leader’s brother, Afsar Ali.
When the sleeper-leader learns of Jagadish’s role, he starts targeting the families of army men, kidnapping someone close to them. Jagadish realizes the plan and substitutes one of the targets with his younger sister Sanjana. Using his pet dog and his sister’s dupatta, he reaches the sleeper cell’s hideout, rescuing his sister and the other abductees. The second-in-command is captured and killed. With the attacks failing, the sleeper leader targets Jagadish himself, killing one of his friends and demanding surrender.
To safeguard those around him, Jagadish contemplates a risky sacrifice and begins a plan with his fellow soldiers, breaking up with Nisha to keep her safe from the truth. He confronts the leader on a ship rigged with a bomb and uncovers a broader scheme to infiltrate the Indian Army with sleeper agents, aided by a traitor in the Defence establishment — Kameeruddin. After a brutal confrontation, he abandons the suicidal plan, defeats the leader, and escapes with him aboard a boat as the vessel explodes. Jagadish then defeats and forces Kameeruddin to commit suicide, before returning to Kashmir with his fellow army men after reconciling with Nisha.
