Three Windows and a Hanging 2014

Set in Kosovo a year after the war in 2000, the film follows a schoolteacher named Lushe who decides to share a difficult truth with an international journalist. She and three other women recount experiences of rape by Serbian forces, prompting a critical examination of a society rebuilding after conflict, striving for independence, and grappling with issues of gender equality. The story provides a portrait of a patriarchal village and its mayor, revealing the pressures faced by husbands and the suppression of free expression within the community.
