Luciano Gauna is a reserved, thirty-something man who has long balanced between making a living as a children’s party entertainer in Buenos Aires and chasing a personal project—a film script that stubbornly remains unfinished. When he accidentally injures his best friend and co-worker, sending him to the hospital with a throat injury, Luciano’s routine is jolted and a past friendship is rekindled in the process, pulling him back into a world he thought he’d left behind.
That friend is Manuel, who recently returned from Spain with his girlfriend Sofia to oversee the Argentine production of the Spanish TV hit Los Paranoicos. Before heading to Chile for work, Manuel asks Luciano to lend Sofia sleeping pills. Luciano goes to Manuel’s parents’ house, where he meets Sofia. After a quarrel with Manuel’s mother, Sofia leaves with Luciano and her luggage. He walks her to a restaurant, where she declines the medication. Through Sofia, Luciano learns that the character in Los Paranoicos is not only inspired by him but is named “Luciano Gauna”—a revelation that stirs unease inside him, though he keeps it to himself.
With nowhere to stay, Sofia spends the night at Luciano’s apartment, and their bond deepens as they share moments of vulnerability and unspoken longing. Manuel returns with an offer: Luciano could lead the adaptation and production of the series in Argentina, working in an office under Manuel’s supervision, with a generous salary. The proposal promises stability, yet it also forces Luciano to weigh ambition against authenticity and friendship. He asks for time to think it over, unsettled by the dilemma.
At a party hosted by the production company, Luciano re-enters the fray and finds himself drawn to Sofia again while Manuel keeps busy. When Manuel discovers their closeness, a heated confrontation follows, pushing Luciano to leave the venue. Later, he finds Manuel alone, who confronts him about Sofia and the implications of the arrangement. The tension culminates in a chase as Luciano tries to catch up to Sofia and make sense of where they both stand.
