The Omegans 1968

In the jungle, the artist Valdemar paints his wife Linda on a sunlit canvas while their enigmatic guide Chuck secretly plots to spirit her away. An expedition led by Dr. Salani and Bill McAvoy ventures deep into the wilderness to investigate a mysterious, radioactive waterfall, despite locals’ warnings about its cursed waters. A chilling moment arrives when native guide Tumba is dragged beneath by a glowing, otherworldly shape, leaving an eerie silence in its wake.

Back home, Dr. Salani’s experiments suggest the water possesses strange properties—perhaps a real-life Fountain of Youth. Meanwhile, Valdemar uncovers Linda and Chuck’s plan to kill him. Rather than confront them directly, he lures them back to the waterfall, and the two bathe in its alluring rejuvenation. Yet the promises of youth come at a brutal cost: an insatiable thirst and rapid physical decline begin to consume them. Linda, pale and desperate, returns to the water while Valdemar watches with a cold, unsettling satisfaction. Chuck, now delirious and visibly aged, hurries back to the lab only to find Salani gone. When he returns to the jungle, he sees his own face staring back in horror, unrecognizable.

Linda, stumbling and sick, finally catches her reflection in Valdemar’s painting—a terrifying monster staring back. In a panic, Chuck tries to kill Valdemar, but Oki fatally shoots him. As he falls, Chuck fires again, inadvertently killing Linda. The two bodies self-cremate in a stark, final twist that seals the fate of the cheat: cheaters never prosper.
