The short opens with bold newspaper headlines announcing that Fifi, Minnie Mouse’s pekingese, has been dognapped, followed by a description of the suspect, Peg Leg Pete. A radio transmission detailing Pete’s getaway car is picked up by the local police, drawing the attention of the always-on-alert duo, Mickey Mouse and his sidekick, Donald Duck. Almost immediately, they spot the fugitive speeding by in the car and surge forward in pursuit, with Mickey at the helm on a motorcycle and Donald riding triumphantly in a sidecar.
