The Riveter 1940

On a busy construction site, following a rough off-screen confrontation, a worker is pitched off the scaffolding. The on-site foreman, Pete, posts a sign reading “Riveter Wanted” and begins to eye candidates for the job. Donald Duck spots the ad and insists he can handle the work, despite his smaller stature. Pete, skeptical but curious, hires him and sends him to work on the top floor.

From the moment the work starts, Donald Duck faces a steep learning curve: he is disoriented by the height, and his attempts to wield the rivet gun produce tangled, uncontrolled motion, dragged along the beams by the tool’s jerky recoil. The chaotic rhythm of the rivets and the clang of metal create a harsh backdrop as he staggers through the unfamiliar duties, struggling to keep his balance and his nerve.

During Pete’s lunch break, he orders Donald to stand in and serve, but the surrounding racket from multiple rivet guns drowns out Donald’s nerves and worsens the mess, completely ruining Pete’s lunch. The foreman storms after the troublemaker, triggering a chase across the building’s high floors. Donald manages to outmaneuver him, and Pete slips, plunging from the edge and into a tub of quick-drying plaster. The plaster rapidly encases him into a fountain statue, leaving Donald doubled over in uproarious laughter as the scene lingers on the stunned, plaster-crowned foreman.
