What Is The Circus About?
The premise of The Circus without spoilers.
A boy waits in a hospital vestibule to see his dying mother, but the swirling crowd becomes a grotesque circus that pushes him away, denying a final touch. Rendered with charcoal‑like rotoscoped drawings, 3D and object animation, the film uses colour metaphorically to echo maternal love. Nicolas Brault’s poetic, personal vision offers an unsettlingly real, heartfelt look at a child’s grief.
